FSC

FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council and is an independent, international member’s organisation that works for an environmentally-adapted, socially responsible and economically viable use of the world’s forests.

Our furniture is produced with FSC-certified pine.

Certified companies follow FSC regulations (standards) for forestry and traceability. Companies that follow the regulations may mark their products with FSC’s trademark. The FSC trademark means that consumers and companies can choose wooden items originating from responsible forestry, in other words forestry that takes humans and the environment into account.

We have good controls here in Sweden by setting demanding requirements on our suppliers. We do this by means of one of the world’s strictest regulations against the illegal harvesting of wood, the “EU Timber Regulation". The regulation is controlled by the Swedish Forest Agency, which is a national authority that performs regular checks throughout the year on the sector’s operators. If they discover that an operator has breached the regulation, the operator’s permit is revoked and the products are seized. Some of the provisions in the Timber Regulation include stipulating how the wood is harvested and ensuring its full traceability.
